We're Off

Ladies and Gentelmen,

My name is Rodney Weinstein and I am an avid amateur sports gambler. The reason why I say amateur is because I don't do it for a living, I do it as a hobby. The reason why I say avid is because I am damn good and I live and breathe NFL sports gambling.

Even though we are almost halfway through the 2007 NFL season, I would like to start this blog where I will be posting every week and discussion the games, spreads, money lines, injuries and all facets of NFL wagers.

I want to make something EXTREMELY CLEAR and it is VERY important that all of you understand what I am about to say. I will be making suggestions for wagers where you and I can actually lose (or win) money if you were to gamble legally. This blog is to be used for informational purposes only and I do not guarantee any of my picks or any advice, input, ideas, strategies that I write. Additionally, I am myself not betting on each pick I give. It is important that you understand this.

This site is for informational purposes only and to give you information and links to other resources that may have the information you are looking for.

At no time am I suggesting or recommending that you wager on sports illegally or even take my advice.

A good sports gambler knows when to bet and when not to bet. A good sports gambler knows how much to bet and how much not to bet. A good sports gambler will have good days and will have bad days. A good sports gambler will learn from his or her mistakes. A good sports gambler will try to document best practices, winning and losing bets. A good sports gambler has to have the guts to bet against huge trends and has to know when to ride out huge trends.

Even the best professional or amateur NFL gamblers will have losing days. However, the best will ALWAYS win over time and will not accept losing.

P.S. – This year I am part of the cbs.sportsline.com Office Pool challenge. In this format, we pick every single NFL game against the spread. One important thing to note is that the spreads lock on Tuesday or Wednesday of the week. I will ALWAYS indicate the spread I am using for a pick and in the case of the office pool you must note that spreads always have to be ½ point lines as to ensure there are no pushes. This is extremely tricky because many lines are 3 points, which have to be either 2 ½ or 3 ½. For those of you who gamble legally on NFL games, you know this is a HUGE difference. A 2 ½ point line is basically a pick ‘em. A 3 ½ point line is tougher because many games are decided by a field goal – 3 points.
